It was a cold and wet Saturday night when we met Glasgow’s viral star Dazza at M&D’s to take on their brand new horror experience.

Dazza,  who is well known for his deep-frying comedy videos on Facebook, joked that vegetables were his biggest fear and that the event at Scotland’s Theme Park should be fine.

We noted that we’d need to play up to the cameras and act absolutely terrified because we’re adults, and surely a horror maze wouldn’t be that scary?

Oh, how naive we were.

Anarchy has a Blair Witch vibe about it - and I don’t just mean my terrible videography skills.

Its sinister ambience is enough to keep you on edge the entire time and fearful of what is around every corner.

Glasgow Times:

The outdoor horror experience throws you into a world where creatures of horror, serial killers and psychopaths are the judge, jury and executioner.

You walk through creepy sets and meet hideous characters whose sole purpose is to make you want to run aware in terror.

Dazza said:

"When we first got there the rain was pelting down. So I won't lie, I wasn't looking forward to being chased around outside by scary people in masks.

“Although I'm used to it living in the East End.

“The experience was brilliant and awful all at the same time.

“I loved every single second of it, but at the same time I wanted to go home and get into bed where I’d be safe.

“These experiences aren't around alot in Scotland so whenever they pop up, I'm there in a heartbeat.

“Paying to be scared by actors is a lot better than sitting in your house."

The horror experience is a part of M&D's Theme Park’s Darktober season which also sees the return of the family favourite Pumpkin Festival, an outdoor event within the grounds of M&D’s Theme Park which features story-telling, enjoyable games and the brand new pumpkin treasure trail, not forgetting the Pumpkin Express.

Matthew Taylor, Managing Director of M&D’s said:

“A lot of what we’ve done this year is to keep customers and our staff safe. So we have all the correct guidelines in place from the Scottish Government such as social distancing.

“The reception of Anarchy has been really good. People just want to have a bit of fun as it’s been a tough year for everyone.

“This is our seventh year running the event and we’ve always had it indoors. So, we were a bit nervous that people would be worried about the weather as it’s outside but people have been really enjoying it.

“So we’re delighted because that’s what it’s all about.”

Anarchy will run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from September 25 through to Halloween  on Saturday, October 31.

There will be hand sanitation points at the maze entrance and exit, as well as social distancing in place throughout the park during the duration of Darktober.

Masks must be worn by all guests during the event and all groups must enter as a maximum social bubble of six people across two households.

You can book tickets to Anarchy here and check out more from Dazza here where he will be releasing the video on Wednesday.
