HOUSE prices in Inverclyde plunged by more than 13 per cent this year - the biggest drop in the whole of Scotland.
New figures released yesterday by HM Land Registry reveal that in July 2019, the average price of a house in the district stood at £106,682.
In July this year, the average purchase price was £92,060 - a 13.7 per cent drop on 2019 and the most dramatic fall for the year ending July 2020 across the whole of the country.
The price also marks Inverclyde out as the cheapest place in Scotland to buy a property.
The volume of homes up for sale in Inverclyde also reduced, going from 136 in May 2020 to just 46 in the same month this year.
