Huge Amazon warehouse set to open in Baillieston (Image: PA)
Amazon is to open a huge warehouse in Baillieston in the near future.
According to CoStar News, the world's largest retailer has pre-let a 145,000 sq ft build-to-suit warehouse at Glasgow Business Park on a 15-year lease.
Muir Group had previously bought the land at the park at the beginning of 2018.
One year later, the group lodged plans for a large distribution hub after being approached by an undisclosed occupier.
It is now understood Amazon has pre-let the hub as a new-concept fulfilment centre for Glasgow.
Muir is understood to have pushed on with funding the development despite receiving forward funding approaches.
There is currently one Amazon warehouse in Scotland, located in Edinburgh.
