With restaurants across Inverclyde temporarily closing their doors for the next two weeks, many people will be looking to tuck into a tasty takeaway as a weekend treat.
We have no shortage of takeaways in every corner of Inverclyde and there's something to suit everyone’s tastebuds.
A firm favourite in most households in a chippy tea: do you go traditional with a fish supper, try a pizza or change it up and have something new?
We asked Greenock Telegraph readers what local chip shop they thought was the best.
Here are the top five as voted by you.
1. Louis’, Port Glasgow
We were inundated with comments saying that there is no greater chippy than Louis’ in Port Glasgow.
Owned by Marco Mazzoni, people from all over Inverclyde head to the Bay Street shop for their chippy fix.
With over 50 five-star Tripadvisor reviews, it seems that the chippy truly does deserve the top spot on this list.

2. Mamma Franca, Gourock
Gourockians are usually queued around the block outside this chippy on Shore Street.
Freshly cooked to order you might need to wait to get your tasty treats, however it’s always worth it.
The chip shop has an excellent choice for anyone looking for gluten free options too.

3. Orangefield Chip Shop, Greenock
A popular choice of local high school kids and their mums, uncles, grannies (it could go on forever) is Orangefield Chip Shop at Holmscroft Street.
Owned by Marco Demelas, the chippy has been a staple in the Greenockian choice of chippy for over 20 years.
Don’t miss out on the macaroni – a favourite for all the family!

Not too far from Orangefield is Luigi’s – a favourite of many coming off the train at Greenock West and looking for something to tantalise their tastebuds.
As well as chip shop staples, the team at Luigi’s make fresh pizza and pasta every day.
A new addition to the menu is the ‘Mangiare Box’ which seems to be going down a treat.

5. Macari’s, Wemyss Bay
Many people might know Wemyss Bay for their iconic ferry terminal; but what some might not know is that its chip shop attracts hundreds each week.
