GOUROCK ferry firm CalMac are training staff to be 'mental health first aiders'.
So far, 60 employees across the network have been trained in the NHS accredited scheme - with two Gourock employees leading the way.
Tayloure Given, who works as a customer adviser in the operator's Kempock Street office, said: "On busy days, we can take up to 200 calls in the contact centre and over the course of the day, depending on the conversations, this can take its toll.
"I want my colleagues to be able to reach out to me if they need to talk to someone, or most importantly, just someone to listen."
