THE trial of a man who allegedly kicked a woman unconscious which was adjourned part-heard amid lockdown in March has been further delayed.

Joseph McGowan's seven-month long case was due to reach a conclusion at Greenock Sheriff Court earlier this week but had to be further postponed for a medical reason.

The court heard previously how McGowan, 28, allegedly flew into a violent drink and drug-fuelled rage after finding the woman in bed with his partner at an address on Fairrie Street.

He denies assaulting her to severe injury.

The case is due to call again on November 23.
