A TORY MSP has raised an urgent motion in parliament on the closure of Inverclyde Royal's ICU.
Jamie Greene won support for his call for a full debate on the decision to transfer patients to Glasgow instead.
Mr Greene said: "Any long-term changes to provision of services of critical care deserve to be justified by the health board and SNP government.
“The fact remains that there was a long-standing commitment that there would be no reduction of services.
"If patients are being moved to Glasgow instead of remaining at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, that would constitute a reduction of service provision to most people.
"I am pleased that my urgent motion has received enough cross-party support and is now eligible for a full parliamentary debate on the matter.
“It is disappointing that no SNP MSPs added their signature to my calls for a debate."
