A WEATHER warning has been issued for Inverclyde with torrential downpours predicted overnight and for most of tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall.

It takes effect at 3am and lasts through until 9am on Tuesday.

Forecasters say there could be travel disruption and some localised flooding.

Spray could lead to difficult driving conditions on the roads.

After a weekend of nice conditions, the showers are expected to move in during the early hours and they should become heavier by morning.

The wet weather is forecast to be with us throughout Monday and there will be a moderate breeze to accompany it.
