Customers visiting Braehead shopping centre will be able to enjoy a fully immersive reality experience on time for Halloween.

Galactic Experience, a city tech firm, is behind the technology and creative designs that will allow shoppers to take photos of themselves alongside ghosts, skeletons, vampires and other creepy characters this spooky season.

Graeme Geddes, innovation and project manager with Galactic Experience, said: “It has been a tough year for shopping centres, so we’re delighted to be able to help Braehead offer its customers a unique experience this Halloween.

Glasgow Times:

“The technology will enhance the shopping experience for children and families and help deliver a much-needed boost for retailers.

"In addition though, it’s great Braehead has opened the app up to be used outside the centre too, which will allow those who’re perhaps self-isolating, shielding, or in quarantine not to miss out on the Halloween fun."

David Lyon, Braehead’s marketing manager said: “Halloween is the traditional time of year when everyone has a bit of fun with spooky goings-on, but we’re bringing it right into the 21st century with some amazing augmented reality technology.

“It’ll be great fun for all the family and something they’ll be talking about for a long time.”

Glasgow Times:

Shoppers can download the Braehead app for their phone or tablet from iOS and Android, scan special markers on the floor and walls throughout the centre and the spooky figures appear as if by magic on their screens.
