SPACEMEN, witches and masked characters went on a spooky scavenger hunt for Halloween.

Youngsters from Wellpark Children's Centre in Greenock donned their very best fancy dress outfits to search for their super artwork displayed in people's windows and gardens.

The tots had each been given home a picture to colour in to decorate their windows.

They then joined their classmates to search for them in a fun Halloween adventure.

Head of centre Anne Marie Cunningham said: "During the lockdown we'd held a teddy bear hunt where we asked children to colour in a bear and display it next to their NHS rainbows on their windows.

"Following on from the success of the rainbow and teddy bear hunt, we decided to organise a spooky Halloween hunt to bring a bit more fun to the restricted celebrations this year.

"The idea is that the children can look out for ghosts, pumpkins and witches in people's windows and gardens while they are out and about."

Nursery kids were proud to pose with their pictures and the children had a great time during the week as they enjoyed Halloween craft activities.

Anne Marie said: "They have been exploring the sticky side of pumpkins and making Halloween biscuits."

If anyone spots any of the children's pictures they are invited to upload them on to Twitter with the #Inverclydelookforaspook hashtag.
