A person has been hit by a train between Holytown and Coatbridge. 

Rail passengers are being warned to expect delays between Milngavie, Motherwell and Cumbernauld in both directions. 

ScotRail customers are being asked to travel via Coatdye to and from Glasgow Queen Street low level. 

A Tweet reads: "Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Holytown and Coatbridge Central. I'll share more information about changes to trains once I have them."

The current condition of the person to have been hit by the train is currently unknown.
