THE Waterfront Cinema will be forced to shut its doors again from Monday following the decision to put Inverclyde into tier three of the new coronavirus restrictions.
Bosses broke the news to staff and called around customers who had booked seats for the weeks ahead.
The Waterfront will close its doors after its weekend of Halloween special 'Fright Nights' celebrations.
Only a few weeks ago MSP Stuart McMillan visited the cinema to praise their safety efforts and encourage local people to use it.
A spokeperson for the venue said: "Following government announcement, we will be closed from Sunday 10pm until further notice.
"This is outwith our control and is a very disappointing time for not only our staff but our audience too.
"This will be monitored on a week to week basis, and we will keep everyone up to date.
"We are in the process of contacting customers with bookings for Monday onwards regarding tickets for re-scheduled screenings."
