A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after being attacked in Port Glasgow this morning.

The 33-year-old suffered injuries to her face and had to be rushed to Inverclyde Royal.

Detectives believe a weapon may have been used by her attacker.

Now they are appealing to the public for help following the disturbance in or around 146 Arran Avenue at around 1am.

Detective Constable Paul Crawford of Greenock CID said: “We are appealing for anyone who can help with our enquiries, or may have dashcam footage.”

The victim was later released after treatment.
