INVERCLYDE'S MSP believes the launch of the Scottish National Investment Bank will encourage economic growth across Inverclyde.
Stuart McMillan has welcomed the unveiling of the financial service, which will invest in local businesses and communities and help Scotland meet its climate change targets.
The Scottish Government has committed at least £2 billion to support the bank over the next 10 years.
Mr McMillan said: "The bank will invest in firms and community projects that intend to play their part in tackling the global climate emergency.
"Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and I look forward to seeing the bank’s impact on Inverclyde."
