A MAN stole nearly £300 worth of items from Greenock's Tesco supermarket whilst in unlawful possession of a lock knife.
Krzysztof Janusik, 63, loaded up a trolley with booze, food and household items and tried to stroll out of the store with the haul in January.
He was stopped by staff and the knife was discovered after police officers arrived.
The sheriff court heard how Janusik, of Sinclair Street, helped himself to a total of £291.52 worth of merchandise.
Sheriff Joseph Hughes has deferred sentence on him until January 20 for a background report.
