A LABOUR MSP has lambasted the Scottish Government over the £200m ferries fiasco at Ferguson's.

Neil Bibby was reacting following publication of a damning report by a committee of MSPs into the saga.

He said: “Dedicated, skilled workers at Ferguson's have been let down, Scotland’s coastal and island communities have been let down and all of us who want to see this industry rejuvenated on the Lower Clyde have been let down.

"There has been a disturbing lack of strategy on the part of the Scottish Government at a time when we need them to be focused on how to build this industry back up.

“The Scottish Government have to fix this mess quickly, make sure the voice of the workforce is heard and put in a place a system we can all have confidence in to procure replacement ferries and have them built on the Clyde to support local jobs.”
