With the countdown officially on until Christmas, many families may be looking for ways to make merry memories with their nearest and dearest.

With Government advice being not to travel out with your council area, there are plenty of fun ways to festivity your days without having to leave Inverclyde.

The Greenock Telegraph have compiled some suggestions of things you can do to make the most of the Christmas period.

Festive Treasured Hunt

Inverkip Hub in partnership with the 85th Greenock & District Scouts are having a Festive Treasure Hunt tomorrow.

Head down between 9am and 11am to collect your map from the Hub, then go and collect your prize between 2pm and 4pm.

 

See a festive film

With Inverclyde being in Tier 2, the Waterfront Cinema have been able to open their doors.

Our local cinema are screening new films as well as old festive favourites that are sure to get you into the spirit.

See old classics like It’s A Wonderful Life, watch the Grinch on the big screen or enjoy the adventures of a 6ft elf in New York.

Stream a live theatre performance

The Beacon Arts Centre have three fabulous festive performances available to stream for FREE.

Families can enjoy the amazing pantomime, ‘The Magical Beacon Stone’ featuring some favourite Scottish actors, can tune in to watch ‘A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play On Stage’ or enjoy the ‘Snow Qween’.

Christmas fun at Cardwell Garden Centre

Greenock Telegraph:

Santa will be at the centre every day from December 21 to December 24.

Youngsters can also enjoy an Elf Treasure Hunt and explore sELFie Land to take photos of themselves with animatronic animals and figures in a scene from the North Pole, as well as sitting in Santa’s sleigh and big chair.

Go alpaca trekking
