A GREENOCK-born artist has been included in a list of the top 25 figurative painters in the UK.

Alison Watt appears in the inventory published by Contemporary Art Issue.

The list brings together a cross section of the most influential and important artists in the UK at the moment.

Alison, who was born in 1965, attended Glasgow School of Art and her work 'Self-portrait (1986/7)' won her the 1987 Portrait Award from the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Winning the prize led to her being asked to paint a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

Alison's works are held in the collections of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh, the Uffizi Collection in Florence and the National Portrait Gallery in London.
