MORTON have been dealt a blow with Rangers loanee Josh McPake set to miss tonight’s clash against Ayr United and looking set to exit the club.

The Tele understands that the winger has now returned to his parent club's training ground for treatment to an injury which will rule him out of tonight’s game.

It comes as news breaks that the Rangers prodigy looks set to leave the club when his loan spell comes to an end next month, in favour of a new loan move down south.

Forest Green Rovers, Salford City and Harrogate Town have all been linked with a swoop for the youngster.

McPake has impressed at Cappielow since his arrival in September, appearing 10 times and registering two assists in his short stint at Cappielow.

Ton go into tonight’s game in fifth place in the Scottish Championship, one point ahead of Ayr with a game in hand.
