TWO Morton players are self-isolating after a member of the club's backroom staff tested positive for Covid-19.

A club spokesperson has confirmed this morning that a part-time member of staff had tested positive for the virus.

The two players in question have had to enter a period of self isolation, having come into close contact with the staff member.

The news comes after Morton played Ayr United on Tuesday evening.

It is not known whether the staff member and/or players were present at the game.

Ton are due to face Alloa on Saturday.

The club's spokesperson said: "We have no players who have tested positive but, due to a part-time member of our backroom staff returning a positive test, two players who have had close contact are self-isolating as per government advice.

“We have kept the SFA updated at every stage and we look forward to the players and staff member returning in January.”
