A GREENOCK women's rugby team have thanked sponsors who helped them raise hundreds of pounds to help local children in need.

The Wanderers Ladies XV went on a Santa dash during the countdown to Christmas and raised nearly £700 for Children in Poverty Inverclyde.

Thanks to the donation the charity was able to pass on more gifts to frontline teams for distribution to vulnerable families.
