POLICE discovered heroin worth £1,200 after stopping a driver in Hope Street in Greenock.
The 20-year-old man was caught and arrested at 7pm on Thursday for drugs-related offences and is expected to appear at court at a later date.
Area Commander Chief Inspector Paul Cameron has promised a tough stance on drugs offences.
He said: "I am disappointed that individuals continue to believe it is acceptable to be in possession of illegal drugs in Inverclyde.
"If you are possession of such substances you should expect to be caught and charged by local officers."
