PROVOST Martin Brennan has offered his condolences following the death of the Archbishop Philip Tartaglia.
Archbishop Tartaglia served Inverclyde through the Diocese of Paisley as the fourth Bishop of Paisley from 2005 until 2012.
Provost Brennan said: “Archbishop Tartaglia was a man of faith but was also an ambassador for the principles of caring and compassion.
“His loss will be felt in the Catholic church and in wider Scottish public life.
“On behalf of the community of Inverclyde, I convey our condolences to Archbishop Tartaglia’s family and to the wider Catholic community suffering this loss."
