FAMILIES across Inverclyde will find out today if children can go back to school next month.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is expected to announce how long schools will remain closed for and if pupils can return to the classroom after 1 February.
Ms Sturgeon will also confirm if mainland Scotland will stay under the toughest coronavirus restrictions after the end of January.
The Holyrood update will be shown live on BBC Scotland at 2.15pm, and can be viewed on Scottish Parliament TV and the Scottish Government's Facebook page.
Figures released by Public Health Scotland show that there were 207 positive coronavirus cases in Inverclyde between 9 and 15 January.
