INVERCLYDE Council must be given more funding to help in the fightback against Covid-19, says an election candidate.
Labour's candidate at the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections Francesca Brennan warns that without more money local people will suffer.
She says lifeline services must be protected and demanded an end to budget cuts.
Holyrood hopeful Ms Brennan said: "Local government has suffered a disproportionate share of SNP cuts so our communities across Inverclyde desperately need for this budget to be one of the fairest in relation to local government funding.”
“Inverclyde Council has played a key public protection role in the grip of the pandemic and continues to deliver lifeline financial support to individuals, organisations and businesses during this challenging time.
"Without investment, cracks can start to show in our communities and it becomes extremely difficult for us to achieve the ambitions we all have for our area."
