A DRUNK Greenock woman spoiled Christmas by throwing a tree to the floor and booting presents in the presence of a child.

Pamela Luke, 34, has now pleaded guilty at the sheriff court to wilfully exposing the youngster, aged under 16, in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health.

She admitted to becoming intoxicated whilst in charge of the child on Christmas Day.

Luke, of Kilcreggan View, picked up the tree within the living room and threw it to the floor.

She then proceeded to kick the gifts which had been under it and also smashed a glass coaster.

Luke further pleaded guilty to a separate charge of slapping another youngster aged under 16 on the head after repeatedly shouting and adopting an aggressive demeanour.

She also admitted, through her lawyer Edward Sweeney, to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by repeatedly shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.

She committed the offences on December 25 and June 25 in 2019.

Her not guilty plea to another charge of struggling with two police officers and assaulting a female PC by kicking out and striking her on the body was accepted by the Crown.

A denial of allegations that she also made offensive remarks and repeatedly uttered threats was also accepted.

Luke was absent from a sentencing hearing and the matter has been deferred until next month.

The case is due to call on March 3.
