A GREENOCK youth charity has teamed up with a famous cyclist and a global adventurer to champion the benefits of outdoor education.
Ocean Youth Trust Scotland has joined forces with Mark Beaumont and Mollie Hughes to help launch a new 10-year plan.
Compiled by a team of outdoor education organisations, including the Greenock charity, it's received cross-party parliamentary support and aims to ensure residential outdoor learning is part of the school curriculum.
Ocean Youth Trust gives youngsters aged 12-25 the opportunity to go on sailing adventures.
General manager Hazel Wiseman says the pandemic has had a devastating impact on outdoor education.
She added: "This vision, if realised, would afford every young person the opportunity to reap the unique life benefits that only outdoor education can provide, at a time when they have never needed it more."
