YOUNGSTERS at a Port primary found their 'mo-Joe' as they enjoyed a workout in their school grounds.

Child care hub pupils at Newark Primary were full of beans following the moves of celebrity coach Joe Wicks.

They took part in one of his online exercise sessions outdoors, with the star beamed from a laptop onto the school wall.

The primary three and four classes kept fit and warm during their fun session, with lots of running and jumping.

Teacher Jackie Gilbride, who runs the hub for the P3/4 age group, said: "It's a good way to get the children active.

"The government restrictions mean they are not allowed to exercise as a group inside, so we have to find a more creative way.

"They also get some fresh air as well.

"It so important for the children to be active and I try to incorporate half an hour every day.

"We try to do it first thing in the morning before they start their home learning packs."

PE has never been so popular and Ms Gilbride says fitness icon Joe has made exercise cool.

She said: "It's on YouTube three times a week and he keeps changing the routines, so they're not all the same.

"It makes it fun and the children seem to enjoy it - they always ask if they are going to be doing Joe Wicks this week."
