HOUSING bosses say a blocked drain was the reason for water pouring onto Neil Street in Greenock.

Resident Robert Adams had contacted the Telegraph after complaining to River Clyde Homes about water gushing on to the street.

A spokeswoman for RCH said: "A member of the assets team attended Neil Street on 23rd February and found Scottish Water already on site.

"Scottish Water confirmed they were working to clear a major blockage to the main drain servicing terraced properties on Sutherland Road.

"The blockage and subsequent overflow onto Neil Street was not related to RCH properties and was the responsibility of Scottish Water to resolve.”
