NEARLY £180,000 has been spent bringing primary schools in Inverclyde up to speed and supporting remote learning.

Inverclyde Council has used a grant from the Scottish Government to improve the wi-fi infrastructure.

It is part of a larger grant to support Covid-19 recovery in the months ahead.

Some of the money will also be used to fund recovery teachers based in schools.

The local authority was awarded £700,000 to support ongoing costs from remote learning and recovery plans.
