RED Nose Day is back on Friday March 19 and people across the land are being encouraged to join in. In normal times, Comic Relief makes a great difference to the lives of thousands of people but the drive to help others is more important this year as the pandemic has made people's lives even harder. The following five pictures feature people who have done their bit for Red Nose Days in the past and might inspire others to get involved this year. Staff of computer giant IBM held a day of fun to do their bit for Comic Relief. Action on the fundraising day included wet sponge throwing, making this happy shot for the Tele back in 2011.

KILMACOLM Primary School is always at the forefront when it comes to doing their bit for good causes. Pupils, teachers and parents put on this impressive spread of goodies to raise funds for Red Nose Day back in 2015.

KIDS of Blairmore Nursery took part in the Children in Need charity drive by dressing in red for a day. The youngsters did well to balance or hold their large red noses in place for the shot!

DRIVERS and staff of McGill's Buses made a collection for Red Nose Day by holding a charity football match. Derek Murdoch, Matthew Hendry and Thomas More went to great lengths to make this eye-catching picture for a news story on their charity endeavours.

PORT Glasgow outdoor company Vango provided a host of 'A-list' celebrities, including Ronan Keating, Denise Van Outen and Cheryl Cole with tents and equipment for their bid to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief. The team from the manufacturing facility posed up inside one of their tents for this picture, taken in 2009.
