A MAN was rushed to hospital with serious hand injuries after being attacked by a knife thug in Larkfield.
The 43-year-old was set upon around 9pm last night in the Banff Road area, close to the Day to Day newsagent's.
The victim says his attacker was a man wearing dark clothing who targeted him from behind.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Young of Greenock CID said: "Around 9pm on Sunday evening police took a 43-year-old male to Inverclyde Royal Hospital after sustaining serious hand injuries.
"He was treated and later discharged.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance or fight in this area last night."
