SHOPPERS in Co-op stores across Inverclyde have collected more than £1,300 for a local welfare charity.
Children in Poverty Inverclyde is one of the organisations selected to benefit from the Co-op Community Fund.
Founder Pat Burke says the cash will be used to send families away on holiday.
He hopes to send more than 200 children on family trips this year.
He added: "I am extremely grateful to Co-op customers.
"We will use the final amount for holidays for children in families who have been hit hard by the pandemic."
