EDUCATION bosses are using emergency powers to appoint a new contractor for the £2m Gourock Primary extension.
Work ground to a halt just over a year ago when construction firm JB Bennett went bust.
Plans to find a new contractor failed because of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Officials say there will be a new appointment by next week.
Depute council leader Jim Clocherty said: "We all recognise the delays in this project and the disruption it has caused the school, children and parents."
