ALMOST half of all people living in Inverclyde have received their first coronavirus injection.
Latest statistics show that 32,087 people have now been vaccinated, representing 49.2 per cent of all residents.
The data was hailed by Greenock-born MSP Jamie Greene, who said: "The progress that has been made is incredible.
"The fact that more than half of local residents have now been vaccinated against Covid-19 is superb and I am delighted that this milestone has been reached.
"I urge everyone across Inverclyde to take up their vaccine invitation when it arrives. It is safe and our best hope of returning to a new normal in the months ahead.”
