A FORMER Greenock jail inmate who attacked a fellow prisoner to injury has had his sentence deferred due to a lack of background reports — for a second time.
Michael McElhinny's lawyer told the sheriff court that the absence of the documentation was not her client's fault.
McElhinny, 25, seized another man by the neck, punched him on the head and kicked him on the body at HMP Gateside on March 15 last year.
The matter is due to call again in court on April 28.
