A teenager was arrested after allegedly assaulting two Inverclyde police officers on Saturday.
Two Inverclyde Community Police Officers came across the 16-year-old on George Road in Gourock whereby she was allegedly found to be in possession of alcohol.
When challenged, the teen became aggressive and assaulted one officer by pulling their glasses off and causing cuts and bruises to their forearm and causing a cut to the other's hand.
She has been reporter for the alleged offences.
Area Commander Chief Inspector Cameron commented: "The increase we have experienced in Inverclyde of emergency workers being assaulted simply can’t be tolerated.
"Police officers are in our communities to protect us, being assaulted is simply not part of the job."
