A CATERING dream team in Greenock is ready to walk all the way to Poland for charity.

BaxterStorey staff based within the RBS Mortgage Centre are taking on a big charity challenge.

Fresh from handing over lots of Easter eggs to local children, the canteen workers are also taking part in the huge virtual Kiltwalk event.

Chef Fiona McLeod from Greenock, colleague Pamela McCallum from Port Glasgow and manager Gosia Lagiewka are all taking part.

Gosia, who comes from Krakow, said: "We decided together we would walk the distance it take to get to there.

"We are trying to do five miles each every day, so we are getting there.

"We are getting lots of support from our customers in RBS.

"We have done the kiltwalk before but this time it is different."

The trek is part of a 'Round the World in 90 Days' charity challenge set by the hospitality firm in aid of a disabled riding charity Muirfield Riding Therapy.

Pamela, 58, a catering assistant, said: "I have been walking along the waterfront and the Coronation Park with my dogs.

"It is great fun and we are delighted to take part in another charity event."

Colleague Fiona has also signed up for the walk, trying to do five miles every day, and says this is the latest good cause backed by the team.

The 46-year-old said: "I don't do much walking so I aim for the shops.

"We usually do lots of charity challenges and we also support the STV Children's Appeal."
