A TEENAGER was arrested after a disturbance in a Gourock street on Friday night.
Back-up officers assisted local police following complaints about large groups of young people gathering across the area.
Just after 8pm, officers arrested a 15-year-old after he was found to be in possession of a brick and engaging in anti-social behaviour in Binnie Street.
Area commander Chief Inspector Paul Cameron said safeguarding teenagers in Inverclyde is his 'absolute priority'.
He added: "Police are not wishing to criminalise our young people however this kind of behaviour is unacceptable and we will take robust action against those involved."
