A MAN phoned police on his ex-partner of seven years after inviting her to breach bail conditions and visit him, Greenock Sheriff Court heard.
Gerrard Halliday made the call following an argument with domestic assault accused Susan McNab which resulted in her taking a guitar she'd bought for him.
CCTV footage showed McNab, 47, leaving the Sir Michael Street flat with the musical instrument.
Defence lawyer Derek Buchanan said: "She regularly receives contact from Mr Halliday and is usually strong enough to resist.
"Things had been perfectly amicable and he started to teach her certain chords on the guitar.
"An argument developed and in a churlish response she said she was taking the guitar she'd purchased."
Sheriff Andrew McIntyre admonished McNab, of Cumberland Road, Larkfield.
She still faces a trial on a charge of repeatedly punching Mr Halliday.
