A GREENOCK man was at the centre of a city centre boat chase which saw a police helicopter and specialist marine unit pursue a rib down the River Clyde.
Specialist officers were despatched in Glasgow on Tuesday after several concerned members of the public reported a small craft travelling at speed.
The man on board the boat was eventually traced to Inverclyde.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Officers were notified about the presence of a rib style boat on the River Clyde in Glasgow shortly before 1pm on Tuesday.
"The craft was later traced near to Greenock and the sole male occupant spoken to.
"No further police action is expected.”
