A COUNCILLOR has welcomed a change to a local bus service.
Councillor David Wilson is pleased with the new timetable for the McGill's 530 service which operates from Kilmacolm.
It will now stop at Port Glasgow Retail Park and Mr Wilson says the change will be of great benefit to senior citizens living in the village.
Mr Wilson said: "The service runs every day between 9am and 3.30pm every forty minutes.
"This amendment to the timetable is something I've been fighting for.
"The changes start on May 17 and will allow residents of Woodrow Court, Elphinstone Court and Glebe Court to go to the retail park and Tesco.
"It will also allow people to get to and from the village to work.
"I did lobby for this change but I want to thank Ralph Roberts and McGill's and Colin Napier for making this amendment happen."
