The UK Government's coronavirus job retention scheme is still supporting around 4,000 people in the district.
It was put in place by Chancellor Rishi Sunak last spring and has been extended until the end of September this year.
From July, the level of grant will be reduced and businesses will be asked to contribute towards the cost of any furloughed employees’ wages.
