POLICE were called in after Morton fans gathered outside Cappielow during the club's play-off match against Montrose.
A small group of young supporters stood together on the car park land on Sinclair Street to watch Tuesday's crucial game, which Ton won 3-1 to reach the play-off final against Airdrie.
Local officers were deployed to the scene and police on horseback were also drafted in to maintain order.
An onlooker said: "There was a crowd of young lads up on the hill and some of them were drinking and setting off smoke bombs, but it seemed to settle down quite quickly after the police arrived."
