A RE-ELECTED MSP from Greenock has warned jobseekers not to fall victim to employment scams and fraud.
Jamie Greene has highlighted findings showing that three in four jobseekers applied for posts that weren't genuine during the pandemic.
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is now running a campaign to raise awareness of the problem.
Information provided through fraudulent job adverts can be used in a number of ways by criminals, including identity theft.
Mr Greene said: "Job seeking can be an anxious time for many people and the last thing they need is to fall victim to a scam.
“This is why it is important to be aware of the signs to look out for, such as an unrealistic salary, receiving a job offer without an interview and being asked for money."
