A PORT woman with a passion for mental health handed over a very kind donation to a local children's charity.

Kirsty McGregor Burns donated £1,000 to Mind Mosaic Child & Family Therapies on behalf of the Port Glasgow Spiritualist Mission group.

The funds were raised through fundraising services organised by the group, however the gesture means a lot to the kind-hearted mum's heart.

Kirsty, who has also been heavily involved in the Covid-19 grassroots relief effort in Port Glasgow, told the Tele: "Mind Mosaic do absolutely amazing work here in Inverclyde and I'm so happy to be supporting them.

"I struggled with a child with my mental health which spanned into adulthood, so I would have been so grateful to have had something like this at that age.

"I've worked with those with mental health issues too, it's a cause I believe in.

"The pandemic has created even more of a need for this type of service, so they deserve this donation."

Kirsty's charitable efforts stemmed from her mum, Helen McGregor, who passed away two years ago.

Delighted to accept the donation was Stephen Crawford, Lead Child and Family Worker, who added: "We are so grateful to Kirsty and the Port Glasgow Spiritualist Mission for this generous donation.

"The demand for our services has trebled since Covid-19, so this donation will allow us to work through our waiting list quicker."
