HOMES across part of Inverclyde faced disruption to their water supply after a water main burst in Greenock next to the A78.
Scottish Water said residents in the PA15, PA16, PA17 and PA19 postcode areas were affected after the fault worsened overnight on Wednesday into Thursday.
Some residents were left without water completely and others had a discoloured water supply.
Emergency work was carried out on the broken 18-inch main in a field adjacent to the A78 at Chrisswell Farm.
Scottish Water has apologised for the disruption.
