A LOCAL artist celebrated Scotland's upcoming long-awaited European Championship finals campaign by kicking off a new design project.

Gourock man Craig Black was inspired by the men's team qualifying for their first major football tournament since 1998 and created a football art installation of 'unique and collectable pieces'.

Craig used an eye-catching acrylic fusion paint-pouring technique over nine footballs, each representing a country competing in the Euro 2020 tournament - including one for Scotland.

Craig, a director of Creative Inverclyde, was on Morton's books as a youngster and he created the new Rangers FC brand typeface last year.

He recently teamed up with famous Italian firm Pantofola d’Oro to produce a pair of unique football boots as a gift for Gers manager Steven Gerrard, to commemorate the Ibrox club's recent Premiership title win.

The Euros begin on Friday and Scotland's first match, against the Czech Republic, will be played at Hampden on Monday.
