THE Morton Youth Academy has appointed a new chief scout.
Craig Buchanan has been promoted into the role.
Director Derek Anderson said: "Having joined the academy scouting team in June 2015, Craig has been heavily involved in developing our scouting and recruitment strategy over the past six years across Inverclyde and the wider central belt area.
"I’m delighted he has accepted the position as we further invest and develop in our recruitment process.
"Craig has an in-depth understanding of the pathway from grassroots to pro-youth to first team, having himself come through the S-form youth system with St Mirren, before signing for Ayr United at 18, playing over 100 games for the Ayrshire side, before moving to Clyde and then laterally into junior football.
"He truly understands the journey and is brilliantly placed to lead our scouting and recruitment team."
