PLANS for a new £1.5m drive-thru coffee shop in Greenock are now in front of Inverclyde Council.

A single-storey building is proposed for land on the corner of Cartsburn Street and Rue End Street.

It's said the development would create 40-50 full and part-time jobs.

The plans have been submitted by Dalglen Investments, owned by local businessmen Sandy and James Easdale, who purchased the site from Scottish Enterprise in 2018.

Discussions are under way with national operators to run the proposed outlet.
